August 07-Friday

We drop Hajipur at 7.30 pm. We fix an auto at 400/- and goes to the following places.

1. Kon Hara Ghat
2. Ramchaura Mandir
3.Naulakha Mandir
4. Harhar nath temple
5. Narayani-ganga sangam

Kaun Haara Ghat.
Take bath at kandagi/Narayani river. This is the place where Gajendra Moksha took place. The temple is situated on the banks of river Gandaki (called Narayani river by locals).

Ramchaura Mandir
located at Rambhadra near Helabazar, Hajipur. This is situated on a small hill.

Naulakha Mandir
It is built similar like south Indian style of temple. Vaikuntanatha perumal is very nice. Alwars and ramanujar have separate sanithis. This temple is on the bank of narayani river.

Harhar nath temple Vishnu with chanku chakram Shiva is in front of Vishnu. In a mantapam, we found Gajendra Moksham beautifully depicted. There are many shops on either side of the lane leading to the temple.

Narayani-ganga sangam. After Harhar nath temple we goes deep into the small villages over 6 km. at last we reach the narayani-ganga sangam. Full of water on both sides looks like a sea. We dip at the bank of this place.

Return to Sonepur railway station around 01.00 pm. Opposite to railway station we take the breakfast at 01.30 pm. We pick up a train and reach chapra around 3.00 pm. Take an auto  at 400/-and reach Doriganj which is 10 km where sone and ganga mingles. We make a dip at the bank of river. Next we reach Gautham ashram near revalganj.

it is about 15 km from Chapra towards Buxar. There is a Sri Ram temple where he released Ahilya from her curse. Ghaghara (Saryug)

After a nice cold bath at the sangam, we entered this ashram. We found a large open green compound with a huge expansive tree. There are beautiful sannadhis for Gautama, Ahalya, Anjana devi (their daughter and Hanuman’s mother), Sadananda ji (their son and Janaka’s family preceptor). There are also sannidhis for Hanuman, separate ones for Rama, Lakshmana & Sita.

It takes totally about 4 hours for this two river sangams. We return back the chapra railway station at 6.30 pm.
At 7.00 a train goes at Ballia and reached around 09.30 pm. On the way no proper electricity on railway stations and the travelers switch on the torch light to find their stations. Total 70 kms from chapra to ballia. We so tired and take some fruits. We searched and find one good  Hotel Aryan Bishunipur, Ballia Ph: 05498-222219. At 700/- for double bed room.
